This Safety Engineer role champions a proactive workplace safety culture by embedding rigorous

risk-mitigation strategies directly into manufacturing plant operations. You will serve as the chief technical authority on environmental health and safety (EHS), ensuring total compliance with statutory occupational laws, regulatory mandates, and corporate safety policies. By partnering closely with production, maintenance, and quality engineering teams, the Cargo actively eliminates workplace hazards, optimizes ergonomics to boost operational efficiency, leads incident investigations, and anchors safety audits to secure a zero-accident manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operational activities related to the safety engineering department and plant safety inspections.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, quality, finance, and HR teams to align safety goals.
  • Prepare environmental health and safety (EHS) reports, incident documentation, and legal compliance records.
  • Support continuous improvement, ergonomic updates, and productivity initiatives to reduce workplace hazards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to corporate safety policies, internal standards, and statutory labour requirements.
  • Participate in regulatory safety audits, executive management reviews, and operational plant planning.
  • Maintain transparent, effective communication channels with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct comprehensive workplace risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) to eliminate line hazards.
  • Lead accident and near-miss investigations to establish root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Design and deliver specialized safety training programs, emergency drills, and onboarding for plant personnel.

Experience/ Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical qualification relevant to the role. Candidates must possess a professional registration card from the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry, preferably automotive or motorcycle sector.
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience i relevant field
  • Knowledge of SAP or ERP systems preferred.
  • You must be able to speak English to a conversational level
