The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading all manufacturing activities at São Paulo, ensuring safe, reliable, efficient, and high-quality execution of the production plan.

This is a hands-on leadership Cargo, with a strong focus on safety culture, operational discipline, people leadership, productivity, product quality, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and maintenance coordination.

The professional will be responsible for translating production requirements established through the Supply Chain planning process into consistent shop-floor execution, ensuring customer commitments are met while maintaining the required standards of safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

The role will also have a strong focus on developing the manufacturing team, strengthening operational processes, improving productivity, reducing losses, and establishing a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, EHS, and Corporate Operations, ensuring alignment between production capabilities, customer requirements, quality, costs, and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Leadership

  • Lead manufacturing activities at the São Paulo operation.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and disciplined execution of the production plan.
  • Develop supervisors, team leaders, and production employees.
  • Establish clear accountability, operating routines, and performance expectations.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor and engage directly with operational challenges.

Production & Operational Performance

  • Execute the production schedule in partnership with Supply Chain.
  • Monitor production performance, identify deviations, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, resources, and technical support to meet production requirements.
  • Manage operational KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, efficiency, and cost.
  • Improve productivity and manufacturing efficiency while reducing scrap, rework, downtime, and production losses.

Safety & Quality

  • Act as a visible leader of the Empresas safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and promote employee engagement in hazard identification and prevention.
  • Lead investigations and corrective actions related to incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure products meet technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Strengthen quality control, inspection, testing, and non-conformance processes.
  • Promote root-cause analysis and a quality-at-the-source culture.

Maintenance Coordination

  • Manage the relationship and performance of outsourced maintenance providers.
  • Coordinate preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs, equipment availability, downtime, response time, and preventive maintenance execution.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are aligned with production priorities.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and coordinate root-cause analysis and improvement actions.

Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the development of a Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement culture.
  • Identify and eliminate waste, bottlenecks, rework, waiting time, unnecessary movement, and process variation.
  • Implement and sustain Lean methodologies such as 5S, standard work, visual management, Kaizen, structured problem solving, and process improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, tooling, process simplification, productivity improvement, and improved manufacturing flow.
  • Develop and track continuous improvement initiatives linked to measurable business results.

People & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build and develop a strong manufacturing leadership team.
  • Establish clear expectations and provide constructive performance feedback.
  • Identify capability gaps and support training and succession planning.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, respect, and effective communication.
  • Build strong partnerships with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Finance, HR, EHS, Sales, and Corporate Operations.

Process & Manufacturing Engineering

  • Partner with Engineering to improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, production methods, and layouts.
  • Support the industrialization and introduction of new products and processes.
  • Improve workstation design, material flow, ergonomics, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop standardized and sustainable operating practices.

Requisitos desejados: RequirementsQualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
  • Portuguese fluency is required.
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive manufacturing experience in an industrial environment.
  • Proven experience leading production teams and shop-floor operations.
  • Previous experience as Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience managing supervisors and hourly production employees.
  • Demonstrated experience improving manufacturing productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Strong practical experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and sustaining Lean practices in day-to-day manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with structured problem solving, standard work, visual management, 5S, Kaizen, and process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of production planning interfaces, MRP, ERP, and material flow.
  • Experience with manufacturing KPIs, capacity analysis, and performance management.
  • Experience coordinating outsourced maintenance activities or managing industrial maintenance providers is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing Product Quality Control is preferred.
  • Experience within a multinational manufacturing organization is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in engineered products, instrumentation, industrial automation, or similar low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environments is desirable.
