About the RoleThe Corporate Development Associate is the primary execution partner to the Head of Corporate Development, supporting the full scope of Credit Saison Brasil's strategic transformation. The Associate owns the day-to-day analytical, modeling, research, communication, and program-management workload across the strategy, partnership, and M&A agenda, and supports the Head of Corporate Development on structuring, negotiation, and executive decision-making. The role operates across the Brasil, Singapura (Saison International), and Tokyo (parent) axis.Strategy Formulation & Investment Thesis DevelopmentSupport development and refinement of the two engines strategic thesis — the two-axis model combining liability arbitrage (SCFI leverage and tax-advantaged funding via LCI/LCA in place of interEmpresa debt) with asset-side alpha (deploying capital where origination partners hold durable data, distribution, and collection advantages over incumbent banks).Build, maintain, and stress-test the analytical frameworks used to evaluate every product and partnership — including the multi-dimension partner assessment, the tech-moat test, the liability-arbitrage test, and the defensibility (graduation-risk) test — ensuring each recommendation explicitly addresses how CSBR sustains its Cargo as partners scale.Translate strategic hypotheses into structured decision documents, and options analyses.Partnership & M&A Evaluation and StructuringSource, screen, and evaluate prospective origination partners and acquisition targets across CSBR's priority segments.Support the full deal lifecycle: preliminary screening, commercial and financial due diligence, valuation, structuring, MOU and term-sheet drafting support, and negotiation preparation.Coordinate with internal Legal, Risk, and Finance and with external counsel on deal documentation, and maintain the deal pipeline, status tracking, and follow-up log.Financial Modeling & Quantitative AnalysisBuild and maintain deal-level and entity-level financial models covering unit economics, funding cost, ROE, NIM, leverage, capital adequacy against BCB minimums, cost-to-income, and expected-credit-loss assumptions.Develop interactive scenario and sensitivity tools and convert them into presentation-grade Excel models for stakeholder review, following best-practice formatting standards.Validate every model against regulatory constraints and reconcile assumptions with source figures owned by the Data and Finance functions.Regulatory, Legal & Market ResearchConduct primary-source regulatory research across BCB, CMN, CVM, and ANPD instruments, verifying every material regulatory claim against the original norm rather than secondary summaries.Support resolution of open structural questions in coordination with internal and external counsel.Monitor the Brasilian credit, fintech, funding, and regulatory landscape for competitive and product-relevant developments.Executive & Cross-Border CommunicationsSupport preparation for global leadership forums and the parent-Empresa reporting cycle, including the periodic Brasil strategy presentation to Saison International and Credit Saison Japão.Prepare bilingual (PT-BR / EN) materials — internal analysis in English; partner- and client-facing documents in Portuguese unless otherwise specified.Program & Portfolio Management (PMO)Support SCFI licensing readiness in coordination with the Finance, Governance/Risk/Compliance, and Data functions, tracking phase milestones and regulatory deliverables.Special ProjectsSupport structuring of internal strategic initiatives as prioritized by the Head of Corporate Development.RequirementsNative or bilingual proficiency in Portuguese and professional English, equivalent to CEFR B2 or above.Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. MBA or Master's in Finance or a related field preferred.3-5 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, venture capital, or a comparable strategy/finance function. Financial-services or fintech exposure strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, valuation, and deal analysis, with the ability to build integrated models from Primeira principles in Excel.Working knowledge of the Brasilian financial system and credit markets — including FIDC structures, credit instruments (CCB, CDB, LCI, LCA), the CDI/SELIC framework, and the SCFI/SCD regulatory regime — strongly preferred.Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with comfort interpreting credit and portfolio data and reconciling it against source systems.Advanced proficiency in presentation software for executive-grade, narrative-driven decks, and in Excel to a credit/financial-analyst standard.Familiarity with Brasilian financial-sector regulation (BCB, CMN, CVM, ANPD) and the ability to read and interpret primary regulatory sources.Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex analysis into concise recommendations for executive and cross-border audiences.High autonomy, ownership, and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced, build-from-scratch environment, operating across strategy, finance, legal-adjacent, and operational workstreams.Desirable: familiarity with data/analytics tooling (SQL, Python, or BI tools) sufficient to collaborate with the Data function; prior exposure to regulated lending, FIDC structuring, or fintech partnerships.
