- Work closely with other designers, developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to iteratively design end-to-end user experiences using participatory techniques, ensuring adherence to the latest WCAG accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including accessibility consultants and user advocacy groups, to continuously improve accessibility practices.
- Lead initiatives to integrate accessibility best practices into all aspects of the product development process and the design workflow (from ideation to implementation and validation).
- Provide mentorship and educational guidance to product, design, and engineering team members at ArcTouch on accessibility standards, techniques, and tools.
- Create personas, user journeys, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, visual designs, and prototypes to guide product development towards accessibility conformance and compliance.
- Prepare and lead user testing rounds with assistive technology users.
- Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits and assessments of existing products, identifying areas for improvement, and leading the implementation of solutions.
- Work with design leadership and the existing accessibility team to advocate for accessibility at ArcTouch and foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity in design.
- 4+ years of experience as a UX/UI designer, product designer, or accessibility specialist, with proven experiences in accessibility design and inclusive user experiences.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and their impact on digital design, including screen readers, voice recognition software, and alternative input devices.
- In-depth understanding of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 and how to apply these guidelines effectively in the design and development process.
- Proficiency in user research and usability testing with people with disabilities, ensuring designs meet diverse user needs.
- Familiarity with design systems and how to build accessibility into components and patterns.
- A basic grasp of disability laws and regulations, including the ADA, Section 508, EAA, and other global accessibility standards.
- Experience working on accessibility compliance for both web and native applications.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advocate for accessibility across teams.
- Technical knowledge of basic front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, ARIA) and how they impact accessible design.
- Join product design projects and contribute with your accessibility skills.
- Think of ways of disseminating Accessibility knowledge.
- Interact with a variety of employees from across the organization.
- Provide consultancy on areas that are pertinent to your set of skills.
- Assist our cross-functional teams with legislation implications.
